There has been a shift in focus from traditional golf formats (18 holes over several hours) to shorter, faster formats that allow players to fit golf into their busy schedules. Innovations that have helped drive this trend include the emergence of indoor formats, such as simulators. While this new form of “playing” golf will not take over traditional gameplay, it does drive an increase in the growth of the game and opens it up to more demographics.
MSL is excited to partner with Golf24 to provide a golf membership and appointment booking solution. Golf24 was designed and developed by golfers for golfers, as a dedicated indoor golf practice, play and compete facility. Golf 24 has brought together world-leading golf simulation technology from Trackman in a state-of-the-art golf studio.
Golf24 is intended for golfers from all walks of life. Adrian Lawson, General Manager at Golf24, observed that in the short time of opening, they had a diverse range of members – ‘But what is similar about all of them is that they are avid golfers, and they want to practice and get instant feedback’.
With the new Trackman 4 simulators, Golf24 members can play on the world’s best courses. The key to TrackMan 4’s pinpoint accuracy is its patented multi-sensor technology that synchronises an inbuilt camera with two bespoke designed ultra-sensitive radars. The power and precision of Trackman is unrivalled.
MSL Solutions combines market-leading products to drive revenue, member engagement and improve governance for golf clubs. MSL is supporting Golf24 with Virtual Manager, Member Portal and ProPlanner. ProPlanner is the central point of the business with its key integration with Trackman. ProPlanner is a web-based booking calendar solution that allows golfers to book lessons online from available professionals and book simulator sessions.
A Golf24 member will book a simulator through ProPlanner and once they arrive, the Trackman will automatically turn on. And at the end of their round, the member will be given a 5-minute warning before their session ends and then TrackMan will turn off. A further integration is being scoped between the door access system and ProPlanner, so a member can simply turn up at their scheduled time, use a unique access code and start their session.
Golf24 launched it’s pilot store on the Gold Coast (Southport) recently and is looking to expand to further locations in the near term including Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns. Adrian mentioned that MSL’s membership capabilities played an important role in the decision-making process – “We plan on opening a range of centres over the next three years, so we’ll have quite a large membership database across a variety of geographical locations. So, the MSL membership solution was a great fit for us. We will have one central location for our membership and then tier them down through geographical naming or however we want to do it.”
MSL knows golf and this is reflected, not only in the software we provide to clubs, but also that we manage and maintain the GOLF Link handicapping system for Golf Australia (GA). As GA’s strategic technology partner, we have been involved in every major rollout of changes to the Golf Australia handicapping system including the migration to the World Handicap System.
At MSL, we dedicate ourselves to delivering products, services and solutions that express our affinity with the culture of Australian golf – we create products that golfers love.
