The Challenge
Golf Australia worked closely with Golf’s two international governing bodies, The R&A and the USPGA, to develop the World Handicap System (WHS). The project presented key challenges for Golf Australia including the development of software and technical elements.
The Solution
At the end of January 2020, Australia was the first country to go live with the WHS outside of the USGA. Over 400,000 golfers were successfully re-handicapped on GOLF Link, Australia’s national computerised handicapping service, across millions of rounds of golf, with the data synced and updated on the Golf Australia website.
The Results
Built on the software technology of MSL Solutions, more than 1 million golfers in Australia and Europe have been successfully transitioned to WHS.
